Dealership Work Life Balance Requires Colleagues that Care

Transcript

Sean : Automotive professionals that have been doing it for any length of time have missed out on that family time. Because we have this, you know, maybe it’s a fear of failure, right? Like we need to, you know, like, we’ve got to always be, you know, ready to, and you’re willing to, and I know, You’ve even teamed up with some of the other top performers at your dealership, and you guys kind of help each other out. So you can be with the family and your customers can get an amazing experience. Would you tell me a little bit about that?n

nRolando : Oh, yeah, so I definitely have a team that I trust, for sure. Right now, even with one of my co-workers, it’s her hair day. So she’s, she’s, she’s okay. She’s like, I was like, go ahead, go. So between myself and, and my brother here as well. She has a customer coming in, he’s going to finalize everything. We know what needs to be done. So the customer could be here right now and my brother is going to be the one handling it. If I wasn’t on this call, I’d be the one handling it.n

nSo definitely, it’s always best to have someone that you can definitely trust and confide in or team up with. So that way, that freedom is always definitely there. So that way, if like, Hey, man, I gotta go, I’m gonna go spend time with my family. Do you mind finishing this up for me? Absolutely. And they’re not looking to try to take money out of your pocket, you know what I mean? So it was definitely fun in that it was also a very peace of mind something very peaceful to have here. And I’m very blessed to have them here with me teaming up and supporting each other always.n

nSean : nThat’s pretty cool. And you know, I also respect the fact that your store, you know, the store, the leaders of the store, the managers there are cool with that. I think there’s a lot of undue pressure from managers in the car business, especially for people who might be underperforming. And I was there man, I remember, this person is underperforming, they better be trying, and trying to me meant that they were there on their day off and working bell the bell? And so how do your managers kind of handle that situation and what is their, what gives them the confidence to like, let people you know, have that sort of life?n

nRolando: nThat is really, really awesome. So first and foremost, our dealership, it definitely is still a family owned company. So with that being a family owned company, that kind of trickles down into the entire team. So our leaders are definitely especially one of our top leaders, they’re definitely always focused on making sure that we spend time with our family. Definitely, they are very big promoters ont work life balance. If you got to go home and be with your family, spend time with them go. That’s definitely very important. They’re very, they’re family oriented themselves. So that we have flexible schedules with that so that way you can choose whether to be here the whole time. Or you can split that time up within your own schedule, you have to be within your own schedule, or you can leave early or come in a little bit later, depending on your schedule.n

nSo that way you can spend some more time at home. So that’s available there. And then with that flexibility, they definitely do promote the fact that you get a team member so that way when you’re not here and your team member is you can always rely on that person to take care of your customers because of course at the end of the day as running a business customers come first. So if a customer is gonna be coming in the door, we’re going to your teammate, better be ready to be able to assist them appropriately, as you would if you were here so I can always appreciate that from them. That has that
